Hello Shannondale Elementary School Families!!

On behalf of the Shannondale Elementary Foundation, I’d like to welcome you to our website! We are excited to begin our 7th year supporting what we believe is the best elementary school in Knox County. I am honored to lead a team of volunteers who work together to acquire financial support from the community, families, and businesses to fund major academic initiatives at Shannondale.

Beginning in 2015, the Foundation’s initiative was to fund a full-time STEM teacher, and with the generous support of families, local businesses, and individuals in our community we have done just that. We are continuing to support the STEM program/teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. Once a week your students attend a STEM class. That position was 100% paid for by the Shannondale Foundation!

April Lamb is our STEM teacher. She began in this position last year and has continued to grow it this year. Our students are learning about coding, robotics, working as a team, and STEM careers.

To continue to offer this program for our children for years to come, we need your support. Your participation makes a difference, and we need that parent participation to grow even more!! What can you do?

1. Attend the Calhoun’s luncheon (Tuesday, October 25)

2. Attend our annual Gala at the Standard (Saturday, March 4)

3. Donate an auction item to our annual Gala

4. Donate $$$ online (every little bit counts)

5. Sponsor our events

6. Send your feedback

The funds raised this year will pay 100% of the salary of the STEM teacher and supplies for the classroom. Please help us continue this wonderful program at Shannondale! We truly are so fortunate to offer this program to our students, but we need all of your help to ensure that it is here forever!
